38 weeks

Today was a long appointment.  Our normal 20 minute appointment turned into two hours.  The baby's heart rate is on the lower side of normal and so I was put on the fetal monitor for 20 minutes.  The baby's HR dropped one time and took a little while to come back up which extended the monitoring another 45 minutes or so.  On the other hand, with movement the heart rate went up to 140-150 which is good.  The doctor is sure everything is okay and suspects that the baby's baseline HR is probably 120, the lower side of normal.  I will return to the doctor tomorrow however for a non stress test.

Baby's head remains very low.  I am 1.5 cm dilated and 60% effaced this week.

Everything looked great in the extended monitoring today so she doesn't suspect there are any problems, but I will keep you updated.

34 & 35 weeks

Sorry I missed a couple of weeks.  We have been busy with the nursery and last weekend was filled with baby showers.  So much fun!!!  While I celebrated with the women and babies, Bryan was able to take an overnight hike with the men.

To my friends and family . . . Thank you for the love, support and gifts.  Bryan and I are very blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives.  XOXO

Our 36 week appointment is tomorrow, I will update you after.

A picture of the nursery to come :)

33 weeks

We showed up for our 12:20 appointment as it was written on our reminder card, but oops . . . the appointment was at 10:30.  I guess 12:20 AM on 12/20 seemed a little funny.  So at 2 PM I made it in with the doctor.  One more two week appointment and then we will be every week.  The time has gone by so fast and I am starting to think we'd better prepare the baby room and get some of the essentials because if baby is anything like my lil' nephew he could be here in as little as 3.5 weeks, although it is more likely he will come in 6-8 weeks:)  Baby is healthy with a HR of 130.  Contractions have started, usually just one or so a day, but last night three . . . I better put my feet up a little more at work:)
