41 weeks . . .
Baby Estes is cozy and in no hurry to experience the world outside mommy's womb. Tomorrow we will have a non-stress test and an ultrasound to determine a plan of action. If everything looks good we will induce on Friday when our doctor is on call. I will keep you updated and hopefully be posting pictures of our new lil' boy soon.

40 weeks & anxiously waiting . . .
Well, we made it to our due date and our baby continues to grow. I am crossing my fingers he isn't as big as I was!
At our doctors appointment we went back on the fetal monitor today. Baby has a low but still normal heart rate at 115. I guess he is going to take after his daddy. Bryan and I saw some pretty good contractions on the monitor but I'm still not feeling them much. The doctor swept the membrane again to try and speed up labor ... hoping this time it will work: I went on two long walks and did some stair steps to try and help.
It is hard to believe we could meet our baby boy anyday now, but we are so excited!

39 weeks and counting ... false alarm
After questioning whether my water had ruptured or possibly just a leak during my ACLS class Saturday I called the doctor Sunday morning. They had me come in to see what was going on. I knew we would probably be sent home but better safe. Seems as though I have a small leak or possibly just nothing at all. The doctor was pretty impressed I was able to sit through an ACLS class at 9 months pregnant :) but after monitoring the baby, a sterile exam and a quick ultrasound we were sent home to watch the Superbowl.
Tomorrow is week 40 and we have a check up in the afternoon. It sounds like they won't let me go past 41 weeks but we will find out for sure tomorrow. In the meantime I will continue my daily walks and stair steps hoping that the lil' man will decide to come on his own.

39 weeks
Bryan and I are getting very eager to meet our little one!
I just returned from the doctor. Baby's HR is better at 130 this week. . . I guess eating before my appointment helps:) Not much has changed in the labor process so I was offered a membrane sweep to try and speed things up. Sometimes this will work within the next 24-48 hours, but not always so the waiting game continues. We will keep you updated.
In the meantime we continue to receive thoughtful gifts from friends and family. It is amazing how spoiled our little boy is before he has even arrived.
